Invitation: The Department for International Development's Jo Cox Memorial Grant Holder Announcement, 3rd March 2020
The Jo Cox Foundation and The Department for International Development is delighted to invite you to join us at an event on 3rd March to mark the formal announcement of the Department for International Development’s Jo Cox Memorial
Grants (JCMG) recipients. Please join us for this special event where grant holders can meet one another, as well as Jo’s family and the teams of The Jo Cox Foundation, the Department for International Development and UK Aid Direct Fund Manager, MannionDaniels. Together we can celebrate how UK aid is supporting the phenomenal work that is being done in Jo’s name to prevent identity-based violence and empower girls and women in the world's most fragile states.
Attendees will hear from Jo’s sister and JCF Ambassador Kim Leadbeater, Baroness Sugg, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for International Development, and active JCMG grant holders, offering insights into the impact of the work that will take place over the next three years of the programme.
Please email [email protected] with the names of any additional guests.
A sincere thank you to JCMG grant holder Women for Women International UK for hosting us.
About the Department for International Development Jo Cox Memorial Grants
In March 2018, the Department for International Development launched the Jo Cox Memorial Grants; a £10 million fund to support organisations working on two themes close to Jo’s heart: women’s social, economic and political empowerment, and strengthening civil society capacity for early prediction of identity-based violence.
Throughout her life, Jo was concerned with what would make a real difference to the world’s most disadvantaged. Jo was a passionate advocate for the power of the UK’s aid agenda and the Jo Cox Memorial Grants are therefore a fitting tribute to her life and a powerful way to continue her humanitarian legacy.
