Jo Cox Cambridge Memorial Lecture 2021

The Department of Sociology and Murray Edwards College invite you to the Annual Jo Cox Cambridge Memorial Lecture on 16th June 2021

Jo Cox MP was a former student of Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge and a committed politician, humanitarian, wife and mother. In June 2016, Jo was murdered by a far-right activist whilst working in her constituency, Batley and Spen. Jo dedicated her life to helping others, campaigning tirelessly for a fairer, kinder and more tolerant world.

To celebrate Jo's life and the inspiring work she was involved with, The University of Cambridge Department of Sociology and Murray Edwards College hosted the 4th annual lecture in our memorial series on 16th June 2021; the day which marked the 5th anniversary of Jo's murder.

The lecture was delivered by the former Home Secretary and Chair of The Jo Cox Foundation, the Rt Hon Jacqui Smith.

We'd be grateful if would consider making a small donation or become a Friend of The Jo Cox Foundation to support our work continuing Jo's legacy.
